Lassen County Map

Lassen County comprises Susanville, California, a micropolitan statistical area. A former farming, mining, and lumber area, its economy now depends on employment at one federal and two state prisons; the former in Herlong and two in Susanville. In 2007, half the adults in Susanville worked in one of the facilities.

Susanville Ranch Park is a 1,100-acre park property in northeast California owned and managed by Lassen County as a shared-use recreation area. It is an exciting and diverse area that offers a multitude of leisure time activities for visitors.

Eagle Lake

Eagle Lake is a lake at 5,098 ft elevation in Lassen County approximately 15 mi north of Susanville, California. An endorheic alkaline lake, it is the second-largest natural lake entirely in the state of California, United States.

Bizz Johnson

This Rail Trail is 25.4 miles long and the majority of the trail winds its way along the rugged Susan River Canyon. A gentle 3% grade and wide gravel surface make the Bizz perfect for hiking, biking, and horseback riding.

Lassen Volcanic National Park

Lassen Volcanic National Park is an American national park in northeastern California. The dominant feature of the park is Lassen Peak, the largest plug dome volcano in the world and the southernmost volcano in the Cascade Range.
